Bi-lingual teaching method plays a significant role in the development of medical science in China, but the shortage of teaching materials in English on operative dentistry and endodontics is a concern for scholars and teachers. This book aims to offer a solution to this problem. It is a compilation of reference books, including teaching materials of original editions. The book covers the major topics of operative dentistry and endodontics. In Part One, it covers dental disease, such as dental caries, noncarious teeth hard tissue disease, and diseases of the dental pulp. Part Two discusses restorative dentistry, including the biologic foundation of restorative dentistry, tooth preparation, and composite restorations. Finally, in Part Three, it covers endodontics, discussing pulp anatomy, therapy for conserving vital pulp, aspects of root canal therapy, and endodontic surgery. The book also includes two appendices on history and examination and English-Chinese terminology.This book fulfills consolidated standards of teaching materials in English and aims to be assistant material for the school of stomatology in The Fourth Military Medical University. It is adaptive for students in a 5-year or 8-year course and graduates in the school of stomatology. It can also be helpful for the faculty and students of junior colleges. Although it may not be perfect, it is an essential teaching material.
