The Development of China's News Media Report (2020) delves deep into the historical and current state of China's media landscape. From the preface, the reader is given an overview of the report's objective, which is to record every significant development and identify any obstacles or challenges faced by the industry. The report tracks the news media sector over the years, cataloguing achievements and highlighting shortcomings.In 2019, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the National Press and Publication Administration provided the data for the report. It also draws from some research findings. The School of Journalism and Communication of Renmin University of China drafted the report, with support from the Television School and Communication University of China. Foreign Languages Press subsequently translated and published the final report.
